FAQs
Job Seekers
What is the cost of using Underwood Recruiting, Inc. to locate the right company and next career move for me?
There is no cost to candidates. Our client companies pay us when our candidates are placed.
What happens when I apply for a job through your company?
First your resume or CV (curriculum vitae) and qualifying form is electronically reviewed by one of our recruiting team members and referred to our account manager / recruit manager. If the recruit manager believes you are a match for the position you have applied for, or for another similar opportunity, you will be contacted directly for further discussions and interest. You will not be professionally presented to our client company unless you and the recruiting manager both agree this is the right career move for you.
Here after, we will remain in contact with you throughout the complete preparation and interviewing process and will remain as a consultant with you through recruit/hire process and on-boarding.
How can I make sure my resume will be seen by all your recruiters, and considered for current and future opportunities?
Resumes and appropriate professional information is retained in our database, where it can be seen by all of our recruiters. Please make sure we remain updated with your contact information and career changes.
What type of relationships do you have with your client companies?
We have approved agency agreements with all of our clients; you can be assured that the client will regard your resume as an official submission from our approved agency. The relationship with our client companies is very strong. One of our key values is continued business with each client as a preferred vendor. Keep in mind, other recruiting agencies sometimes will submit resumes to companies without approval from either the client or company - this may hurt your chances of being interviewed.
Is a search firm similar to an employment agency?
We are a search firm and not an employment agency. We provide recruitment services to employers who need to fill specific jobs. Our client companies determine the positions we work on; therefore we do not always have the same positions available. An employment agency is set up to find jobs for people and may have a wider range of opportunities as opposed to niche industries or opportunities.
I do not want anyone to know I am looking for a new opportunity; I would like to keep very confidential in my search.
Absolutely; we will never disclose your name, current company, or contact information without your consent.
What benefits do you offer candidates?
We act mainly as career consultants to candidates we work with - providing guidance through every step of the hiring process and beyond. We are Certified Personnel Consultants (CPC certified) through the professionally recognized National Association of Personnel Services organization. We are experts with resume design, interviewing, and career development. And we offer passive job seekers the chance to be on the cutting edge of the technical and professional hiring scene.
Employers
What will this search cost me?
Our searches are priced as a percentage of the new hire's base salary only. It does not include sign-on bonus earnings, first year bonus earnings, or relocation expenses.
When is payment due?
Our terms are net due in full within 10 days after the candidate's start date.
What types of contracts do you offer?
We offer both contingency and retained search contracts. If the search project is on a contingency basis, the fee will be due within ten days of the start date. We can also design a retained search to fit your needs; usually engagements will require 1/3 of the fee upfront at signing, 1/3 due upon 30 days into the project, and the final 1/3 due on the new hire's start date.
How long will it take to get candidates to review?
We will start immediately with our internal database search followed by our large national external database search where we will review our affiliated recruiter candidate possibilities and submittals. We will also proceed with calling passive candidates outside of our database network as well.
Our focus is to only present our top three candidates as quickly as possible in direct response to your time line. Your business needs are our priority in every search.
Will you hire our employees?
If we have a current client agreement with you, you have our word that we will not actively recruit from your company. We are a private company unlike several of the franchise companies that cannot control one franchise from recruiting from you while another franchise is recruiting on your behalf.
What makes Underwood Recruiting, Inc. qualified for executive search?
Our senior search consultants have had extensive career experience within their respective fields. Those prior years of experience includes general human capital management regarding interviewing, hiring, career coaching, mentoring, and decisive decision making. Our entire executive team is professionally certified as Certified Personnel Consultants (CPC certified) through the professionally recognized National Association of Personnel Services organization. We are experts with resume design, interviewing, and career development. And we offer passive job seekers the chance to be on the cutting edge of the technical and professional hiring scene.
In a nutshell, we have walked in your shoes as manufacturing professionals.
What guarantee do you have that this new hire will work out?
We offer an up front guarantee period in our contract for you to determine if the candidate does indeed match up to their resume and background.
If for some reason a candidate does not continue employment through the guarantee period, we are notified within five business days, and the invoice has been paid within terms, we will replace the employee without further charge to the employer.
